Sofia Art Gallery

The Sofia City Art Gallery is carrying out a specific policy designated to attract child and youth audiences through various educational programmes, lecture- and practice-oriented workshops. Traditionally, the Gallery conducts children’s educational programmes jointly with the EasyArt Foundation and the photographer Alberto Stoykov. Many of the Gallery’s research projects are complemented by theoretical discussions and special weekly meetings with the curators. The Sofia City Art Gallery works in close cooperation with the National Arts Academy and the New Bulgarian University and its venues often accommodate lecture courses for students and graduates with Batchelor’s or Master’s degrees in Art Studies and Culturology.

The Gallery’s educational policy has a focus on the attraction of disadvantaged people to the exhibition areas and on developing special programmes for their inclusion in the enjoyment and understanding of graphic arts. Annually, at least two exhibitions are suited specifically to visually impaired audiences by the use of tactile cards and specially designed audio guides.
